Nick Kyrgios receives one-month suspension for cocaine use and enters rehab program
Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios was handed a one-month ban after testing positive for cocaine and has agreed to join a treatment programme.
Kyrgios, who tested positive at an ATP event in Mallorca, was provisionally suspended by the International Tennis Integrity Agency. An independent lab confirmed his explanation that the drug use occurred socially and outside competition, allowing the sanction to be reduced to one month. He must complete a treatment programme, forfeits prize money and ranking points from the Mallorca tournament, and will be eligible to compete again on September 3, 2026.
