Nighttime bus overturn in eastern Hungary kills twelve, injures ten
A Polish-registered coach overturned on Hungary's M3 motorway near Mezokeresztes, leaving twelve dead and at least ten injured.
Early on Sunday, a Polish-registered coach traveling on the M3 motorway toward Nyiregyhaza left the road near the town of Mezokeresztes and rolled into a ditch, overturning completely. State news agency MTI said the bus held 57 passengers plus two drivers. Police indicated that the driver likely fell asleep before the crash. The disaster claimed twelve lives and left at least ten people with injuries, all of whom were taken to medical facilities. The driver has been placed in custody pending investigation. Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar posted the casualty figures on Facebook.
