Nine major PBMs to display TrumpRx cash prices on benefit platforms
A coalition of nine pharmacy benefit managers will integrate TrumpRx cash pricing into their benefit tools to give patients clearer cost information.
The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association announced a partnership with nine leading pharmacy benefit managers to feature cash prices from the TrumpRx platform within their benefit tools. CMS Administrator Mehmet Oz highlighted the effort as aligning with the administration’s goal of lowering prescription costs through increased price visibility. PCMA CEO David Marin emphasized that showing TrumpRx prices will allow patients to compare options and choose the most affordable source.
The PBMs involved are CarelonRx, CVS Health, Express Scripts, Humana, MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Navitus Health Solutions, OptumRx, Prime Therapeutics and WellDyne, covering commercial, Medicare and Medicaid plans. The agreement covers all drugs listed on TrumpRx, whether they are part of a presidential deal or have a standard price. Implementation is expected to start on Jan. 1, 2027, with some PBMs using real-time benefit tools and others integrating the data by different means.
