Nine-year-old girl killed in collision on A831 between Drumnadrochit and Cannich

A crash on the A831 near Drumnadrochit resulted in the death of a nine-year-old girl, and police are seeking witnesses.

A collision between a Volkswagen Polo and a Ford Ranger occurred on the A831 between Drumnadrochit and Cannich at approximately 5.30 pm, resulting in the death of a nine-year-old girl. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, responded, and the driver and front-seat passenger of the Polo were transported to Raigmore Hospital for medical care. Sergeant Kate Finlayson said investigators are working to determine the full circumstances and have appealed for witnesses or dash-cam recordings.

The road remained closed for about seven hours while police conducted their inquiry. Anyone with relevant information is urged to call 101, referencing case number 2610 of October 7.
