Nintendo schedules back-to-back Direct showcases next week, featuring Zelda anniversary and Switch 2 lineup

Nintendo announced two consecutive Direct presentations for next week, with a Zelda 40th-anniversary show on September 8 and a regular Switch 2 showcase on September 9.

Nintendo will host two Direct broadcasts on consecutive days next week. The first, called the Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, airs on September 8 at 10 AM ET (7 AM PT) and is slated to last roughly half an hour. Leaked visuals hint at a commemorative Zelda Switch 2 console and controller, an upcoming Ocarina of Time remake, and a live-action Zelda film expected to debut next year.

The second Direct takes place on September 9 at the same time, lasting about 45 minutes, and will spotlight Switch 2 titles scheduled for a winter launch. After the showcase, a Nintendo Treehouse livestream will present gameplay demos. Both events will be streamed live via Nintendo’s YouTube channel and the Nintendo Today app.

Why it matters

The streams will unveil new Zelda content and upcoming Switch 2 games, shaping fan expectations and the console's market appeal.
