Nintendo sets November 5 release for Switch 2 Ocarina of Time remake

Nintendo announced that its revamped Ocarina of Time will arrive on the Switch 2 on November 5, coinciding with other major releases.

Nintendo used a Legend of Zelda anniversary broadcast to confirm that the Ocarina of Time remake will debut on the Switch 2 on November 5, placing it alongside other high-profile titles slated for the same month. Long-time series producer Eiji Aonuma described the effort as a faithful reinterpretation that leverages contemporary hardware. The showcased footage highlighted significantly sharper visuals, including a more imposing Great Deku Tree and a detailed hat for Link, as well as unrestricted camera control.

New mechanics such as “threads of time” aim to simplify navigation, while players can now hum tunes instead of using button inputs. Additional updates let Link jump with a button press. This will be the first Zelda entry released exclusively for the Switch 2.

Why it matters

The release marks a major Nintendo launch, expanding the Switch 2 library and reviving a classic for new and returning fans.
