Noah Wyle doubts David Ellison's plan to relocate Paramount from California
Actor Noah Wyle said he hopes David Ellison’s threat to move Paramount out of California is mere saber-rattling, noting his personal stake as an Angeleno.
During an event in Los Angeles, Noah Wyle told reporters he hopes David Ellison’s talk of moving Paramount out of California is only saber-rattling, emphasizing his own interest as a resident of the city. He warned that removing the studio would take Hollywood out of its historic home. Ellison has signaled that Paramount could start relocating as soon as October if the merger with Warner Bros.
Discovery is not resolved through a settlement with state attorney general Rob Bonta, amid an antitrust case filed by twelve states. The studio has not yet chosen a new location, with Georgia, Texas and Tennessee among the options under consideration. Earlier this year, Wyle had spoken at a California Senate hearing led by Adam Schiff, advocating for tax incentives to bring film and TV work back to the state. He highlighted that the HBO series “The Pitt” created 600 jobs and contributed $125 million to the state economy, and noted the uncertainty surrounding the merger’s outcome.
