At a parliamentary hearing, Hong Jee-sun, the nominee for Land and Transport Minister, committed to harnessing all available public and private resources to swiftly increase housing stock in high-demand areas, with the goal of market stability. He highlighted reforms to speed up licensing, strengthen the housing ladder for youth and newlyweds, and enhance protections for disadvantaged renters. Hong further promised to set up regional bases for cutting-edge industries to back the government's megaprojects, emphasizing balanced regional growth as a national priority.
He will coordinate with local governments on the second-phase relocation of public institutions away from the capital and link them to local industry growth.
