Norse Atlantic Secures New ACMI Deal, Leasing Two Dreamliners to Pakistan's PIA
Norse Atlantic Airways announced it will lease two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to Pakistan International Airlines, with operations slated to begin in November 2026.
Norse Atlantic Airways confirmed a lease of two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to Pakistan International Airlines, with flight operations expected to start in November 2026. The agreement follows IndiGo's decision in July to discontinue its wet-lease arrangement, allowing Norse to preserve a vital ACMI partnership. Facing soaring jet fuel costs, the Norwegian airline is reducing its low-cost transatlantic services and concentrating on ACMI contracts that provide revenue stability.
Norse currently runs a fleet of twelve Boeing 787 Dreamliners and is in talks with additional airlines about future ACMI deals. The carrier also began a formal process in July to explore a possible sale or merger.
Why it matters
The lease bolsters Norse Atlantic's revenue base while expanding PIA's long-haul capacity for future growth.
