North Korea claims AI-guided torpedo tested underwater in recent drill

North Korea said it carried out an underwater test of a new AI-assisted precision torpedo named Zam-2.0.

The regime reported that the Zam-2.0 torpedo was test-fired underwater on Thursday to verify a technical upgrade. According to the announcement, artificial intelligence was integrated into the weapon’s target-detection and guidance systems. The test was presented as a successful demonstration of the super-speed, precision-guided torpedo capability.

Why it matters

The test shows North Korea is advancing AI-driven naval weapons, raising regional security concerns.
