North Korea stages celebrations and cultural events ahead of 81st Workers' Party anniversary
North Korea is holding rallies, artistic performances and museum visits to boost enthusiasm before the 81st founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.
In the run-up to the 81st founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea, the regime has organized a series of events to reinforce loyalty. The Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea held a ceremony that included a debate calling for tighter party control, deeper ideological education and higher grain output. Cultural programming featured a performance by the Youth Central Art Propaganda Team and the inauguration of the National Art Exhibition at the Korean Central Art Gallery.
Simultaneously, large numbers of citizens visited the Party Founding Museum in Pyongyang. The Korean Central News Agency reported that flower baskets from the presidents of Laos and Palestine, as well as from military attachés, were presented to Kim Jong-un.
