North Texas mother shoots her two sons and attempts suicide in Waxahachie home
Police say 42-year-old Colleen Lemmon opened fire on her teenage sons inside a mobile home in Waxahachie, killing both and then cutting her own wrists.
Ellis County sheriff’s deputies arrived at a mobile home in the 500 block of Big Sky Drive in Waxahachie shortly after 4 a.m. following a call about a shooting. Inside, 42-year-old Colleen Lemmon was found with blood-soaked wrists and a handgun, and she reportedly confessed to shooting her two sons, 21-year-old Christopher Pitre and 15-year-old Brian Pitre. Christopher was discovered dead at the scene; Brian was transported to a hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries.
Lemmon was charged with two counts of capital murder and booked at the Wayne McCollum Detention Center. Sheriff Brad Norman expressed condolences to the family, while the motive for the killings remains unclear. Neighbors described the tragedy as heartbreaking, and the Ellis County Criminal Investigations Division is handling the case.
