NRK’s investigative series Brennpunkt will air "Diplomatparet", a two-part documentary charting the careers of Terje Rød-Larsen and Mona Juul, Norway’s most visible diplomats since the 1990s, and their subsequent legal troubles. After the US Department of Justice released millions of Epstein files, Økokrim opened a high-priority probe into the couple for alleged serious corruption stemming from gifts and services received from the late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein.
Prosecutor Marianne Bender emphasized the extensive international cooperation required to gather evidence. Rød-Larsen, now 78 and suffering severe memory and speech impairment after two strokes, is unable to give interviews; both he and Juul maintain their innocence.
