Norwegian Film Institute awards Eskil Vogt $1 million grant for new thriller
Screenwriter and director Eskil Vogt has secured a $1 million grant from the Norwegian Film Institute to produce his next feature, a psychological thriller titled Untitled.
Eskil Vogt, known for co-writing Sentimental Value and The Worst Person in the World, received a NOK 10 million ($1 million) grant from the Norwegian Film Institute to develop his third directorial effort, an untitled psychological thriller about art, power and the blurred boundaries between memory and truth. Vogt will both write and helm the project, which is slated to have a total budget of $11 million. Production will be handled by Mer Films, with Maria Ekerhovd and Lars Thomas Skare serving as producers.
Kjersti Mo, chief executive of the institute, highlighted the grant as evidence of the agency’s dedication to strengthening creators and advancing their careers. Vogt’s previous films, Blind and The Innocents, earned recognition at Sundance, Berlin, and Cannes, establishing his reputation for high-concept storytelling. The funding marks continued support for Norwegian cinema on the international stage.
