Norwegian police detain 16-year-old accused of planning preschool attack

Prosecutor Lise Dalhaug described the case as a preparation for a terrorist act but did not confirm media reports that the boy intended to assault a preschool with axes and knives.

She noted the teenager had discussed several possible targets, though specifics were withheld. The suspect resides in the Vestfold region south of Oslo and appears to have acted without accomplices. Police expect to conclude the probe by the end of September, and Dalhaug warned that the charge could result in a harsh prison sentence.
