Novo partners with Anthropic to speed drug discovery using AI technology

In a press release, Danish drug giant Novo confirmed a new partnership with American artificial-intelligence company Anthropic. The collaboration will focus on applying Anthropic’s Claude Science AI-language model to accelerate the discovery and development of novel therapeutics. Both firms plan to address central obstacles in pharmaceutical research together.

Novo, which already employs AI solutions from OpenAI and Amazon, sees the deal as evidence of its ambition to become the world’s most AI-centric health organization. CEO Mike Doustdar said the alliance will strengthen Novo’s R&D capabilities and support its mission to deliver transformative treatments for chronic illnesses. The move highlights the growing role of generative AI in the biotech sector.
