NPCI unveils AiNxt and AtOM AI platforms to streamline India's payments
The National Payments Corporation of India introduced two agentic AI systems, AiNxt and AtOM, aimed at automating workflows across the country's digital payment networks.
During the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai, the National Payments Corporation of India rolled out two new agentic AI platforms. AiNxt provides an enterprise-level environment for creating AI agents, supporting BYOM, no-code, low-code, and command-line development tools. The AtOM platform focuses on agent-to-agent orchestration, automating tasks like system integration, change management, onboarding, testing and certification, particularly for one outlet network.
NPCI says AtOM will cut manual work, accelerate feature rollouts, and improve coordination among banks and payment service providers, while also meeting compliance and audit needs through machine-readable, digitally signed interactions. The architecture relies on JSON-RPC 2.0 and could be extended to other NPCI products such as RuPay and FASTag.
