NRSC rolls out attack plan against five Democratic Senate hopefuls over ethics claims

The National Republican Senatorial Committee circulated internal guidance that brands five Democratic Senate candidates as hypocritical on anti-corruption rhetoric. The document highlights Maine Senator-candidate Troy Jackson's family lobbying deal, New Hampshire Representative Chris Pappas's marriage to former Amazon lobbyist Vann Bentley and his votes on Uber-related legislation, former Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown's fundraising from Wall Street and health-care PACs, Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff's acceptance of contributions from Reid Hoffman—who maintained ties to Jeffrey Epstein—and Texas candidate James Talarico's relationship with former chief of staff Brianna Menard.

The memo argues that exposing these issues will help the GOP block Democratic gains in the Senate, noting the competitive nature of the Maine, Ohio, New Hampshire, Georgia, and Texas races. It also references ancillary concerns about Michigan Senate nominee Abdul el Sayed's father-in-law's donations to a pro-candidate super PAC. The NRSC plans to deploy the messaging in the weeks leading up to the November elections.
