NTA cuts 600 panelists and adds four-stage review for exams
The National Testing Agency dismissed 600 experts from its assessment panels and is recruiting new specialists, while instituting a four-level vetting process for every exam paper.
During a follow-up review session, the National Testing Agency briefed Education Minister Pralhad Joshi on a sweeping restructuring of its expert committees. Six hundred existing specialists were taken off the panels, and the agency has started the process of recruiting new subject-matter experts. In addition, NTA will subject every examination paper to a four-tier verification system, adding multiple checkpoints to catch errors or bias.
Officials said the reforms are intended to enhance the reliability of one outlet tests and address concerns about previous lapses. The announcement underscores the agency’s commitment to stricter oversight and higher standards in assessment design. The changes were communicated as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the country's testing infrastructure.
