NUTP members to receive discounted fares on Batik Air Malaysia flights
Over 230,000 teachers in the National Union of the Teaching Profession will now enjoy reduced ticket prices on Batik Air Malaysia after a new partnership was signed.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed today between the National Union of the Teaching Profession (NUTP) and Batik Air Malaysia, providing discounted airline tickets to more than 230,000 union members. At the ceremony in Kota Bharu, NUTP president Aminuddin Awang explained that the arrangement adds value for teachers and could attract new members while fostering future private-sector partnerships. Batik Air’s corporate sales manager Pravinderjeet Singh and special officer to the CEO Seif Shaquille Shahril also attended, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to offering corporate rates, student discounts and complimentary tickets.
Shahril noted that the initiative is especially important given rising travel costs linked to one outlet oil crisis. Batik Air operates routes to destinations such as Jeddah, China and India, with both Business and Economy cabins available. The agreement is expected to make air travel more affordable for educators across Malaysia.
