Nvidia and Hon Hai boost GB300 AI platform assembly with high-success robots

Nvidia and Hon Hai Precision Industry say robots now handle key GB300 NVL72 assembly steps with success rates above 90 percent.

In a technical blog post, Nvidia explained that its operations team and Hon Hai Precision Industry have programmed robots to assemble the GB300 NVL72 rack-scale AI platform’s tester tray, improving manufacturing stability. The robots now complete busbar installation—tightening 16 screws—with a success rate exceeding 95 percent and within a 124-second window. Multi-connector insertion, involving two large and two small cable-mounted connectors, records 90-95 percent success and finishes in under 72 seconds.

The companies emphasized the need for adaptable automation because fast design cycles and modest production volumes make fixed lines impractical. Hon Hai, also known as Foxconn, is expanding its robot-driven smart-manufacturing plants in Texas, Wisconsin and California, building on a Houston facility that uses Nvidia’s model-driven humanoid robots. The partnership supports Hon Hai’s dominant share of the global AI server market and its forecasted doubling of AI rack shipments in 2026.

Why it matters

The advance shows how robotics can accelerate and stabilize AI server production, a fast-growing sector.
