Nvidia CEO pledges new AI funding for French startups and European data centers
Jensen Huang announced Nvidia will back four French AI startups, including Doctolib, and warned against alarmist views on artificial intelligence.
At a high-profile event on Place Vendôme in Paris, Nvidia chief Jensen Huang addressed a gathering of French tech figures and government officials, including Economy Minister Roland Lescure and Secretary of State for Digital Affairs Anne Le Hénanff. Despite a malfunctioning microphone, he stressed that artificial intelligence offers Europe a fresh start and that the region’s AI momentum is accelerating. Nvidia will invest in four French startups, naming Doctolib as one of the recipients.
Huang rejected apocalyptic predictions about AI, calling them unfounded. He announced plans to travel to Germany in the coming days to announce a series of AI data-center projects across Europe, which will also involve France. The comments underline Nvidia’s strategy to deepen its European footprint and support local innovation.
