Nvidia takes minority stake in Cloverleaf Infrastructure to boost AI data centers
Nvidia has acquired a minority share in Cloverleaf Infrastructure, a firm that supplies power and infrastructure for data centers, as part of its push to support AI growth.
Nvidia disclosed a new partnership with Cloverleaf Infrastructure, a startup that acts as an intermediary between utility providers and data-center developers, offering power and other essential services. Founded in 2024 and backed by a $300 million funding round, Cloverleaf now receives a minority stake from Nvidia, with the investment likely amounting to several hundred million dollars. The terms of the agreement were not made public.
This investment follows Nvidia’s recent pledge of $1.5 billion to SB Energy, an OpenAI-affiliated data-center project in Ohio, underscoring the chipmaker’s broader effort to finance the infrastructure that fuels demand for its AI chips. By taking a direct role in data-center financing, Nvidia aims to keep the AI ecosystem expanding and ensure a steady market for its products.
Why it matters
Nvidia’s stake in Cloverleaf helps secure the power and infrastructure needed for AI data centers, supporting the growth of the AI market.
