Oasis seeks court order to halt sale of historic concert recordings
Oasis has filed an injunction to stop the upcoming auction of a collection of live and rehearsal recordings known as The Desk Tapes.
Oasis has taken legal action to prevent the auction of a sizable archive of live concert recordings and rehearsal tapes, collectively called The Desk Tapes. The collection, assembled by ex-sound engineer Huw Richards, comprises 63 concert recordings and over 100 hours of rehearsal material, with an estimated guide price ranging from £1.2 million to £1.6 million. Littleton Auctions, which had scheduled the sale for 3 October, withdrew the lot after the injunction was filed.
Owain Richards, who coordinated the sale with his father, confirmed that the auction will be postponed until the court dispute is settled. The rest of the auction, featuring Oasis memorabilia such as setlists, tour itineraries, and a band-played Epiphone guitar, will proceed as intended.
