ÖBB suspends long-distance trains on Southern line after overhead line damage
Long-distance trains on ÖBB’s Southern route are heavily limited after an overhead line was damaged near Wiener Neustadt.
ÖBB announced that the damaged catenary will cause cancellations and major delays on long-distance services until Thursday afternoon, with bus shuttles provided for regional trains. The fault stemmed from two freight wagons that derailed at 1 a.m. when leaving Wiener Neustadt. No injuries were reported. Passengers are advised to check schedules and expect longer journeys.
