October SSI benefits of up to $994 to be disbursed in 19 days

Supplemental Security Income payments for October 2026, up to $994 for individuals, will be sent out in 19 days.

The Social Security Administration confirmed that October 2026 Supplemental Security Income payments will be issued in 19 days, with individual recipients eligible for up to $994. Joint filers can obtain a maximum of $1,491, while those providing essential care to SSI beneficiaries may receive up to $498. To qualify, recipients must be U.S. citizens or non-citizens holding a DHS-approved alien classification, and must reside in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or the Northern Mariana Islands.

Absences of a full calendar month or 30 consecutive days from the United States disqualify claimants. The agency’s website hosts a complete calendar of SSI disbursement dates. These payments support people who are blind, aged 65 or older, or have a qualifying disability and limited income.

Why it matters

SSI payments provide essential financial support to low-income seniors, disabled individuals, and blind Americans.
