The Social Security Administration confirmed that the October 2026 Supplemental Security Income disbursements will be mailed in 26 days, with individual amounts capped at $994. SSI benefits, typically paid on the first day of each month, aid people with limited income who are blind, aged 65 or older, or have a qualifying disability. Payment levels vary: single filers may receive up to $994, married couples up to $1,491, and caregivers up to $498.

To qualify, recipients must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens, live in any of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or the Northern Mariana Islands, and not be absent from the United States for a full calendar month or 30 consecutive days.
