Ohio Congressman’s Girlfriend Indicted for Credit-Card Fraud Tied to Instacart Purchases

Jaclyn Alatrash, the girlfriend of Rep. Max Miller, was indicted on three counts including grand theft and credit-card fraud for allegedly using her ex-husband’s card to buy items delivered to Miller’s home.

A Cuyahoga County grand jury indicted Jaclyn Alatrash, the partner of Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio), on three felony counts: grand theft, telecommunications fraud and credit-card misuse. The charges stem from accusations by her former husband, Matthew Kampert, that she used his personal card—without authorization—to make more than $9,000 in Instacart purchases after their separation, with deliveries sent to Miller’s Northeast Ohio home.

The alleged activity occurred from September 2025 through January 2026, despite Kampert’s marriage ending in February 2025. Miller, who is seeking a third term, is already under scrutiny after his ex-wife Emily Moreno alleged physical abuse, prompting criticism from her father, Senator Bernie Moreno. Miller has denied any violence and testified that he has been dating Alatrash since December 2024.

Alatrash, an anesthesia assistant and bodybuilder from the Cleveland area, will be arraigned on October 23. The case adds legal pressure to Miller’s ongoing political and custody battles.

Why it matters

The indictment links a sitting congressman’s personal relationship to alleged financial crimes, potentially affecting his re-election and public trust.
