Ohio GOP Senator Husted Attacks Sherrod Brown Over Taxes and Immigration at Dallas Convention

At the Republican National midterm convention in Dallas, Ohio Sen. Jon Husted launched an aggressive attack on former Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown, portraying him as a threat to working families. Husted recalled his modest upbringing before noting that Brown entered the Ohio House when Husted was a child, then accused Brown of leaving families behind. He praised the "One Big Beautiful Bill" tax cuts that eliminated taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security, claiming every Democrat in the Senate opposed the measure.

Husted further blamed Brown and national Democrats for open borders, sanctuary cities, and allocating tax dollars to illegal immigrants, questioning their loyalty to American citizens. He also singled out Brown’s support for allowing men in women’s sports and for referring to mothers as "pregnant persons." Concluding with a call for voters to keep more of their paychecks, Husted pledged to keep fighting for that principle ahead of the November special election.
