Ola driver severely injured after Swift driver drags him on car bonnet in Nerul

A road-rage clash in Nerul saw a Swift driver strike an Ola cab driver with a bamboo stick and pull him along the bonnet for about 2 km, leaving the cab driver badly hurt.

On the night of August 15, a confrontation between an Ola cab and a Swift car in Nerul escalated into a violent road-rage episode. The Swift driver claimed the Ola driver had dangerously cut him off while overtaking on an internal road, and responded by striking the cab driver on the head with a bamboo stick. He then forced the cab driver onto the bonnet of his car and continued for approximately 2 km, despite the victim’s pleas for the vehicle to stop, fearing a fall.

When the car finally decelerated, the cab driver leapt from the bonnet, after which the Swift driver sped away, leaving the injured driver on the roadside. The injured party, identified as Pradeepkumar Pandey, 27, of Naigaon, filed an FIR at Nerul police station. Senior inspector Ajay Kamble confirmed that the accused remains at large and that charges under several BNS sections—including voluntarily causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon and rash driving—have been applied.
