Olivia Chow Holds Double-Digit Advantage in Toronto Mayoral Poll
A new Liaison Strategies poll shows incumbent Olivia Chow leading the Toronto mayoral race by double digits, with Brad Bradford in second place.
Liaison Strategies released a poll at the start of the Labour Day weekend indicating that incumbent mayoral candidate Olivia Chow commands a double-digit lead over her rivals in Toronto. The study reports Chow at 50% among decided and leaning voters, Brad Bradford at 39%, and Chris Alexander at 11%. Liaison principal David Valentin described the ballot as stable and more favorable to Chow than to her opponents.
Geographic splits reveal Chow leading in downtown (60% to 30%), North York (53% to 36%) and Scarborough (51% to 38%), while Bradford's strongest area is Etobicoke, where he leads 56% to 33%. The poll also shows a city divided on its direction and on property-tax policy. It arrives on the eve of Chow's official campaign launch ahead of the Oct. 26 election.
