Oman and India meet in New Delhi to boost CEPA and joint economic ties

Oman and India convened their 15th Strategic Consultation Group in New Delhi to discuss activating the CEPA and widening economic cooperation.

In New Delhi, the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India held the 15th session of their Strategic Consultation Group, aiming to energize the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two nations. Oman’s delegation was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while India was represented by Sripriya Ranganathan, Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs for Consular, Passport and Overseas Indian Affairs, with Ambassador Issa Saleh Al Shaibani in attendance.

The talks covered steps to activate the CEPA, enhance trade and investment flows, and broaden joint projects in civil aviation, maritime transport, logistics and energy sectors. Participants also addressed various consular issues and exchanged views on broader regional developments. The meeting underscored both countries’ intent to deepen economic ties and cooperation across multiple domains.
