Omani Finance Minister Leads Delegation at Arab Finance Ministers Council in Abu Dhabi

Oman's finance chief, Sultan Salim Al Habsi, headed the country's delegation at the 17th Arab Finance Ministers Council meeting in Abu Dhabi, discussing regional fiscal issues and AI in tax administration.

The 17th Arab Finance Ministers Council gathered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, featuring a delegation from the Sultanate of Oman led by Finance Minister Sultan Salim Al Habsi. Accompanying him were Central Bank Governor Ahmed Jaafar Al Musalmi and senior officials from Oman's Ministry of Finance and Central Bank. Participants reviewed a range of topics, including fiscal policy assessments across Arab states, the application of artificial intelligence to tax administration, and the impact of sustainable financing on infrastructure projects.

They also evaluated recent tax decision implementations and discussed measures to strengthen Arab financial cooperation and stability. The delegation took part in a ceremony marking the Arab Monetary Fund's fifty-year milestone. On the following day, they will join a high-level workshop titled "Macroeconomic Resilience in the Context of Geopolitical Turbulence" to explore the effects of geopolitical shifts on economic stability.
