Oman’s Sultan signs decrees amending OIC charter and approving Rwanda visa waiver
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued two royal decrees: one ratifying an amendment to the OIC charter and another approving a visa-waiver pact with Rwanda.
Today in Muscat, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik enacted two separate royal decrees. The first, Decree No. 87/2026, ratifies an amendment to the first paragraph of Article 8 of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation charter, following the procedure set by the Council of Foreign Ministers’ decision No. 3/44-AT on summit frequency. The decree instructs relevant authorities to file the ratification document as required.
The second, Decree No. 88/2026, approves a visa-waiver agreement between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of Rwanda, covering diplomatic, private and service passports, and reflects the agreement signed in Salalah on 8 September 2026. Both decrees are to be published in the Official Gazette and become effective upon issuance.
