Oma’s Pride recalls over 600 bags of raw dog food in 11 states due to salmonella

Oma’s Pride, a fourth-generation family pet-food maker based in Connecticut, issued a voluntary recall of one lot of its Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe after a sample tested positive for salmonella. The FDA notice lists 639 frozen six-pound bags, each containing twelve vacuum-sealed 8-ounce portions, with lot code BB012729, manufactured on January 27 2026 and marked for best use by January 27 2029. These bags were shipped to stores and directly to consumers in eleven states between February 12 2026 and May 15 2026.

Three cases of illness have been reported in connection with the complaint that triggered the recall. Oma’s Pride is conducting a deeper investigation, urging pet owners to stop using the product, discard it safely, and clean any bowls or containers that may have been contaminated. The company offers refunds through its customer-service line and email. While salmonella can cause severe symptoms in pets, officials say handling the food does not pose a risk to humans.
