One Nation senator resurfaces 9/11 hoax claim amid party turmoil

Senator Malcolm Roberts repeated a 9/11 controlled-demolition theory in a 2021 podcast that resurfaced on the attack’s 25th anniversary, intensifying scrutiny of One Nation.

A 2021 podcast featuring One Nation senator Malcolm Roberts resurfaced on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, in which he claimed the towers were demolished in a controlled-explosion. Roberts has a history of endorsing fringe theories, including COVID-19 fabrication, praise for Alex Jones, and suggestions of chemtrail testing. The National Institute of Standards and Technology’s three-year study concluded that Building 7 collapsed due to uncontrolled fires, contradicting his assertions.

Pauline Hanson defended Roberts, stating media coverage was taken out of context, while other party figures such as Barnaby Joyce and Alex Antic offered varying levels of support. Internal tensions are heightened by recent revelations about party finances and leadership controversies, making the incident a flashpoint for One Nation’s broader credibility challenges.
