One person found dead after water accident near Tangimoana Beach, Manawatū
A water incident at Tangimoana Beach in Manawatū resulted in one fatality after a boat capsized offshore.
Police responded to Tangimoana Beach Road around 2.30 pm after reports that two swimmers were swept out to sea. One survivor managed to reach shore on their own, while the other was discovered dead at about 3.50 pm. The capsized vessel was located roughly 200 metres offshore from the Rangitikei River bar, north of Himatangi. Authorities are continuing investigations into the circumstances.
