Prosecutors allege she submitted a bogus 2019 tax return and avoided paying at least $1.5 million in taxes for the years 2020 to 2023. Perez entered a guilty plea in May and was sentenced last month to one year of incarceration followed by a year of supervised release, as ordered by the Justice Department.
