Ford highlighted the deep trade relationship between Canada and the United States, noting that both nations are each other’s top trading partners. He expressed confusion over what he described as Trump’s continual attacks on Canada, a close ally.

Ford mentioned that the Canadian federal government and the prime minister are drafting a comprehensive, more than 95-page set of retaliatory tariffs against the U.S., which he said would also impact American consumers. Despite the criticism, he affirmed that Canadians continue to love and respect the United States and its people. He concluded that the dispute underscores the need to expand economic cooperation rather than shrink the “pie.”
