Opposition Demands Answers from Prime Minister on €91 Million Ammunition Deal

Opposition parties published a full open letter to Prime Minister Kristen Michal, seeking detailed answers on the €91 million ammunition procurement scandal that linked the defence ministry to ARCA and the firm Datasel. The 15-point questionnaire asks when the prime minister first learned of the problems, how the defence minister presented the deal in February 2025, and why the financial interests of Reform Party member Jaanus Rahumägi were not disclosed.

It also probes why similar incentives were not offered to Rheinmetall or BAE Systems, the progress of the Kiviõli factory promised to deliver €300 million and 1,000 jobs, and the use of intermediaries such as Oculus Strategic Solutions and the Greek company Nordeto. Further questions address continued payments after the Estonian Center for Defense Investments raised concerns and the delay in appointing a new RKIK director. The opposition claims the public was misled, documents are missing, and calls for the prime minister to cooperate with a parliamentary committee of inquiry.
