Oprah says she has no ties to Dr. Phil or Dr. Oz after their Trump-aligned turns

Oprah Winfrey publicly declared that she has no involvement with Dr. Phil McGraw or Dr. Mehmet Oz following their recent political activities supporting Donald Trump. She recounted that her original decision to feature them on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" stemmed from a belief that their knowledge would benefit viewers—McGraw for his down-to-earth advice and Oz for his skill in translating medical information. Their careers were later expanded through Harpo Productions, creating the "Dr. Phil" and "Dr. Oz" shows and co-founding the digital-health firm Sharecare.

In recent years, McGraw appeared at a Trump rally in Madison Square Garden and joined an ICE operation in Chicago, while Oz received a Trump endorsement in his 2022 Senate bid and was appointed head of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Winfrey, who has consistently supported Democratic figures, stressed that their political paths are entirely separate from her own.
