Orange rain warning issued for six Munster and Leinster counties
Met Éireann has placed an orange warning on Cork, Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford and Wicklow for heavy thundery rain and possible flooding.
An orange-level rain alert was activated early Sunday for six counties across Munster and Leinster. The warning, which began at 6 am and is set to end at 10 am, warns of very heavy rain, thunder, flood risk and reduced visibility. Met Éireann noted that spring tides, surge and strong onshore winds could cause wave overtopping along the southern and southeastern coasts. Cork was added to the alert after the initial issuance.
