Orange Romania to launch voluntary exits and early retirements amid cost-cutting drive

Orange Romania is preparing a cost-saving initiative that initially focuses on voluntary staff exits and early retirement options, according to a briefing from management consultant Doru Șupeală. Employees meeting the company's criteria will be contacted personally by their managers and the HR department to consider the proposals. The company has not revealed how many workers will be targeted, which functions may be impacted, or the size of any compensation packages.

CEO Julien Ducarroz warned that if the voluntary program does not deliver the expected results, the firm may have to adopt additional, less flexible measures. The company currently employs close to 4,000 people in Romania, a slight decline from the previous year, but no specific layoff numbers have been announced.
