Orange weather alerts issued for storms, hail and flooding in Valencia and Mallorca

Spain's state weather service, AEMET, has issued orange alerts for the eastern peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with yellow warnings in adjacent areas, as a combination of heavy rain, hail and strong winds approaches. The Valencia region faces the highest alert level, while Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera are also warned of possible flash flooding and hazardous road conditions. Recent storms on the islands have already caused dozens of emergency incidents, including fallen trees and localized flooding.

Authorities advise motorists to steer clear of flooded roads and to avoid driving through standing water, and residents should check drains and secure outdoor objects. AEMET's Meteoalerta platform will provide updated forecasts for the next 72 hours, allowing the public to stay informed as conditions evolve.
