Orlen and Naftogaz sign dual memoranda to boost LNG and oil cooperation
Orlen and Ukraine's Naftogaz have signed two memoranda to explore three LNG shipments in early 2027 and possible petroleum product supplies to Ukraine, including the transfer of used road tankers.
Orlen and the Ukrainian state energy company Naftogaz have concluded two memoranda of understanding aimed at deepening their energy cooperation. Under the first agreement, the parties will evaluate the feasibility of shipping three LNG cargoes to Ukraine in the first quarter of 2027, a step Orlen says will expand its LNG trading activities and cement its reputation as a dependable supplier in the region. The second memorandum outlines potential collaboration between Orlen and Naftogaz’s subsidiary Ukrnafta to provide refined petroleum products to the Ukrainian market, while also examining the supply of Ukrainian crude to refineries in Central Europe.
Additionally, the deal may feature the transfer of used road tankers to Ukrnafta. Orlen CEO Ireneusz Fąfara and Naftogaz acting head Sergii Fedorenko highlighted that the partnership is a strategic element of regional energy security and diversification of supply routes.
