Orlen and PERN sign pact to boost protection of Poland's fuel infrastructure

Orlen and PERN announced a cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing the safety of Poland's fuel logistics network. The pact covers information exchange, joint training programs and the deployment of new protective technologies across refineries, pipelines, storage sites and transport routes. Ireneusz Fąfara, chief executive of Orlen, emphasized that secure infrastructure is as vital as resource access for the country's energy security.

Piotr Gryska, PERN's vice-president, noted that the collaboration will combine the firms' expertise to better prepare for emerging challenges. PERN already works with the Territorial Defence Forces, Border Guard, Police, Railway Guard, the Government Security Center and other operators, and this new alliance expands that multi-layered protection framework. The agreement is part of Orlen's broader strategy following recent acquisitions in the energy sector.
