Oslo Stock Exchange slips as energy shares retreat and oil prices dip

The main Oslo Børs index fell modestly on the final trading day of the week, led by declines in several major energy stocks while oil prices also slipped.

On the last trading day of the week, the Oslo Børs main index moved lower shortly after the opening bell, as key energy and telecom stocks slipped. Aker BP, Equinor, Telenor and Vår Energi all recorded declines, while Frontline managed a modest rise. The market shift followed a recent dip in North Sea crude prices, with Brent spot trading just above $102 a barrel.

Earlier in the week, the index had climbed nearly 1% and closed at a record high for two days in a row. Additionally, Lundin family investment vehicle Nemesia S.A.R.L. disclosed a sale of shares in Aker BP at a price below Thursday's closing level, marking another reduction of its stake after a similar sale in May.
