Over 100 Israeli settlers torch Palestinian homes and clash with troops in Jalud

In Jalud, West Bank, more than 100 Israeli settlers descended on two houses belonging to the Tubasi family after the Israeli military attempted to escort the family back to their property. The settlers set the homes on fire, blocked access routes and hurled rocks at Israeli officers, three of whom sustained injuries. Troops initially placed the family on the roof but withdrew them as the clashes intensified, and the mission to return them was aborted.

The military later detained two settlers and opened an inquiry. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly denounced the incident and urged law-enforcement action. Rights groups note that settler violence is rarely punished. On the same day, settlers torched vehicles in Al Mughayyir and spray-painted “revenge” on an apartment building.
