More than 100 Palestinians, including children and journalists, were arrested across the West Bank this week as Israeli forces intensified raids and settlers carried out attacks.
According to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society, Israeli security operations in the West Bank have resulted in more than 100 arrests in the last week, targeting adults, children and media workers. The group cites aggressive tactics, including field interrogations, physical assaults, family threats and occasional extrajudicial killings, as well as home raids that damage property and sometimes convert residences into military bases.
Notable detainees include former prisoner Ahmad al-Sayfi, released in a recent exchange, and journalists Muath Amarneh and Sabri Jibril. Settlers also reportedly attacked Palestinians, blocked roads and damaged vehicles while being shielded by Israeli forces. Specific incidents involved a six-hour dawn raid in Burqa, a seizure of a truck in Azzun, and a special-forces operation in Beitunia that left damage inside a home. Additional actions included the demolition of a house in Battir and a raid on the Arroub refugee camp, while settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem ahead of upcoming holidays.
