More than 16 million people have accessed free services at Türkiye’s Healthy Life Centers during the first eight months of 2026, underscoring the nation’s push for preventive care.
During the first eight months of 2026, more than 16 million citizens have utilized free preventive health services at Türkiye’s Healthy Life Centers, according to Erdoğan Öz, the public-health director at the Ministry of Health. The government has grown the network to 357 centers after adding 93 new sites in the past two years, aiming to embed early disease detection into routine care. Services span smoking-cessation counseling, nutrition and exercise advice, and specialized programs such as menopause schools and pregnancy schools that connect expectant parents with physiotherapists and dietitians.
Cancer-screening initiatives have already served over 10 million people through dedicated Early Diagnosis, Screening and Training Centers. Appointments are scheduled via the Centralized Doctor Appointment System (MHRS), and family doctors can refer patients directly. Öz highlighted that broader use of these preventive offerings can catch illnesses early and promote healthier lifestyles.
